Dave doesn't build decks that try to win - he builds decks that completely prohibit his
opponent from winning. This was best exemplified by his Monoblack Five-Color Land
Destruction deck which had no way to deal damage or mill main deck. It also had no
strange alternative win conditions - it just had four living wishes which were used to select
a win condition from the sideboard. The deck had a couple of fortunate games, but it
actually took first. Other similar experiments like Shared Fate and Moslty Brown Mud didn't
fare too well, although Mostly Brown Mud did make it to semifinals. In constructed, Dave is
generally considered to be the polar opposite of James and is most similar to Ryan, but
he plays a completely different kind of control than Jason or Phil. In limited, however, Dave
has shown himself to build aggressive decks that are very similar to those built by James.
Dave is a co-founder of Team Zero and the owner of Aftermath Games. He has been both
the president and the captain of Team Zero since its creation. Additionally, Dave served
briefly as a judge at Ground Zero Comics.
